The NoGood Weekly Digest (10/26/26)

This week: A logo made from sound, a TikTok sitcom from Banana Republic, a burning suitcase, and Domino’s goes Minecraft.

Hi NoGoodies,

We get it, you’re busy. So here’s our weekly digest to catch you up on all of the marketing news you may have missed this past week...

  1. Apple Music rebrands with a logo literally shaped by sound

Working with Fred again.. and Nest Acoustics, Apple played music through a transducer into a shallow bath of mineral oil and filmed the ripples, which became the basis for the new identity/logo. Apple also released a behind-the-scenes film of the process, after some users criticized the minimalist black-and-white app icon that shipped with iOS 27.2.

  1. Banana Republic launches a TikTok-first sitcom

Banana Republic has launched its first original programming, a five-part short-form series starring actor Jack Innanen, who plays every staff member at a fictional, struggling travel agency. The first episode passed 10 million views, and the series comes as parent company Gap Inc. leans further into entertainment marketing through its Fashiontainment platform.

  1. Google turned Halloween searches into an interactive map

Google released Frightgeist, an interactive site built on its search data, where you can enter your zip code to see the top trending costumes near you and browse rankings for kid, pet, and couple costumes. Buddy the Unicorn from the horror film “Buddy” took the number one spot, and the whole site gives brands a free look at what people are actually searching for this spooky season.

  1. Away makes John Summit its “Chief Destruction Officer”

After the DJ went viral for setting his broken Rimowa on fire in a parking lot, rival Away signed him to an exclusive partnership that puts its aluminum luggage through its own trial by fire.

  1. Domino’s goes block-shaped with Minecraft

Starting Oct. 26, Domino’s is partnering with “Minecraft Dungeons II” on in-game items, packaging and giveaways to push the Domino, its rectangular personal pizza built for gaming nights. Domino’s is promoting it with VFX creators from the gaming space and rolling it out across 19 markets.
