🌶️ 2025 is the year to take risks and try new things
Here are our trend predictions for 2025
EGC or “employee generated content”
Spoiler alert: your brand’s next big content creator is someone that’s already on your team. In 2025, we’re going to see the rise of employees stepping into the spotlight to be featured in their companies’ social media accounts. EGC helps companies put a face behind their name and humanizes the brand in an authentic, transparent way.
Community > influencers
Customers are the new influencers as our culture has shifted to favor customers over traditional influencers. Tapping into your loyal consumer base and showing them how much you value them allows brands to grow steadily, as opposed to using influencers to drive one-time purchases from social media followers.
Social listening = relevance
The more you listen, the more relevant you become. Brands that take conversations a step further grow trust and foster connection with their community.
Outbound community engagement
Brands who comment and engage with other pieces of content increase their visibility and build trust with potential customers in the relevant communities.

🎥 Letterboxd is like the booktok of TikTok — but for movies
Read on to learn how Letterboxd builds brand love
The social film discovery app Letterboxd has embedded itself as an essential pillar of film-going culture for the TikTok era.
Experts and enthusiasts alike flock to the website to compare notes and debate what makes a movie worthy of four-and-a-half or five stars.
Here are 4 ways Letterbox builds brand love:
Democratizing film discussion: the brand provides film fans of all ages and levels of taste a centralized place to discuss their thoughts on established classics and new favorites without gatekeeping
Curating excellent user-generated content: the brand has been highly effective in incorporating its own users into the conversation, elevating them from casual contributors to key members of the broader film culture
Creating value through exclusive content: Letterboxd creates social-first video series that lets viewers relate to celebrities and influential users through relatable, down-to-earth questions such as “what’s your four favorites” etc.
Integrating highly requested features: member feedback is taken seriously, and the brand’s owned channels position new updates as major moments worth celebrating

Q: What are your 2025 marketing trends predictions? Give us your hot take.
A: Here are my unfiltered predictions for trends in 2025
This is the year where marketers will utilize AI Agents.
Voice Modality will see a resurgence where voice assistants like Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant will see significant revamps.
AI Search will be the new search as we continue to see search engines actively redefining how we search and interact with information on the web.
Livestreaming will keep expanding as a dominant content format where interactive content helps engage their audiences.
Social search will meet Gen AI as Meta is set to launch its search engine.
AR and VR will continue to progress — while adoption remains gradual, big tech will ramp up investments, keeping the momentum going.
Founders are becoming the face of their brands, acting as creators to drive growth.
Crypto will return to the spotlight, with new tokenization use cases emerging in marketing, loyalty programs, and media.
Brands will become more unhinged, letting their personalities shine through.
Social media is no longer just for consumers — B2B brands are stepping up their game, leveraging platforms like LinkedIn, X, and niche communities to drive engagement and leads.
Communities are on the rise with platforms like Patreon, Discord, Reddit, and Substack thriving as people seek spaces for open, authentic interaction.
Podcasts growth will stagnate — everyone wants to be a podcaster, making the market overwhelming and oversaturated.
Q: Can you tell me more about the year of AI agents?
A: Marketers will lean heavily on AI agents to automate tasks, boost productivity, and reduce costs. “AI agents” has been the buzzword across major martech conferences, from Salesforce to HubSpot to YC Demo Day. Everyone — from startups to tech giants — is building agents, and soon, someone will have to start actually buying them.
