💐 Calm dropped the best Mother’s Day campaign this year
Learn about their “Not Calm Moms” campaign
Did Calm launch the best Mother’s Day campaign of the year?
In honor of Mother’s Day and Mental Health Awareness month, Calm launched a campaign called “Not Calm Moms.”
As cliche as the name sounds, it ties back perfectly to their brand.
They partnered with comedian Sasheer Zamata, to deliver relatable mom content and host Calm’s first mom themed Rage Room.
While brands often celebrate moms for their strength, Calm makes space for the unfiltered sides of motherhood too.
Research shows that short bursts of expression can lower stress hormones and Calm’s Rage Room aimed to solve just that.
Calm was the perfect brand to launch a Mother’s Day stunt like this.
It’s a textbook example of a brand using its platform to say something that matters.
Oftentimes Mother’s Day can feel performative but Calm chose empathy over aesthetics.
By choosing to prioritize mother’s mental health for Mother’s Day, their campaign tied back to their brand and the message landed.
What did you think of the “Not Calm Moms” campaign?
⚙️ Dyson is one of the most successful brands in the tech industry
Explore Dyson’s marketing strategy and learn about the evolution of their success
Dyson invests heavily in user-generated content, influencer collaborations, and educational videos that feel personal, not pushy.
The message is consistent: “We know our audience is smart and selective – so we’ll show, not tell.” This content strategy leans into trust, not hype, positioning real users and creators as the storytellers. And it works.
Their launches are more than product drops; they’re multi-platform storytelling moments, designed to communicate the innovation behind each product in ways that feel aspirational yet grounded.
By partnering with influencers, showcasing real-world transformations, and emphasizing the ease of design benefits – like faster drying with less heat damage – Dyson crafts a narrative that resonates. Over time, this approach doesn’t just build hype; it builds credibility, transforming satisfied customers into vocal brand advocates and fueling viral growth through authenticity.
🎙️ Q&A with an expert
A bi-weekly interview series with the best in the game
Q: After watching Figma Config, which update stood out to you the most and why?
A: I believe Figma Sites was the most anticipated product launch this year, and there are so many no-code site builder tools (like Wix Studio, Framer, Squarespace, etc.) that are in big trouble because of it. Most of these tools had Figma plugins that would help users convert a Figma wireframe into a functional webpage. However, with the launch of Figma Sites, users would be able to launch functional webpages straight from Figma, drastically improving web design efficiency.
As a designer in a marketing agency, Figma Buzz stood out to me since it seems to be the perfect tool to facilitate collaboration between marketers and designers. I really needed a tool like this since it makes creating templates and bulk production so much faster. It also makes it possible for marketers to work on templates (approved by designers) and create final deliverables without needing a designers help, thereby increasing the overall efficiency of the team.
Q: Do you think Adobe is dead?
A: I don't think Adobe is dead just yet. It's coming for sure with every new product Figma reveals. Figma Draw doesn't have all the features of Adobe illustrator, but it does have the most common Illustrator tools, and this makes it so much easier to achieve your design goals without opening Illustrator. If Figma continues growing as it currently is, then Adobe is going to be in real trouble within the next 5 years.
